The renowned Kensington Palace has been a royal residence since the 1600's. Ranger's House and the Wernher Collection in Greenwich

If you are in the mood to see some eclectic art this writer recommends a visit to the Ranger's House in Greenwich London.  Within the confines of this elegant Georgian mansion is housed the impressive Wernher Collection.  The museum can be found in Greenwich Park and on display is the works of art acquired by German born diamond magnate Sir Julius Wernher who lived from 1850 to 1912.

Old Royal Naval College

A bit more than 5 miles from Safestay Hostel is one of the architectural treasures of British history. It is the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich London. By car you can be there in less than 20 minutes. If you wish to use public transport the total trip will be less than 45 minutes. Walk to Elephant and Castle and take the Northern Line Subway towards Barnet. You will disembark at the London Bridge stop. It will be a short walk to London Bridge. Take the London Cannon Street Train to Dartford. (Stop ID: LBG) From there disembark when you arrive at Maze Hill. (Stop ID: MZH). The train ride will be about 11 minutes. From there you will need to walk to your destination. It will take you less than 9 minutes.

Lullingstone Roman Villa 20 Minutes From London

History buffs will really enjoy a visit to Lullinstone Roman Villa. By car it is less than 20 miles away.  If you are taking public transport you can be there in about an hour from Safestay Hostel.  The quickest route is to head to Elephant and Castle Stop ID: EPH and take the train towards Sevenoaks.  There will be 14 stops and this will take about 44 minutes.  You will disembark at Eynsford Stop ID: EYN and from there you are less than a mile from Lullingstone Roman Villa.
