Cutty Sark in London

A little more than 5 miles from Safestay Hostel is an interesting attraction for any history buff.  It is Cutty Sark a British clipper ship built in 1869.  By car you can be there in less than 30 minutes.  If you wish to use public transport the total trip will be less than 45 minutes.  Walk to Elephant and Castle and take the Northern Line Subway towards Barnet. You will disembark at the London Bridge stop.  It will be a short walk to Bank.  At Bank take the DLR (light rail) towards Lewisham.  It will take 19 minutes with 10 stops. From there it is a 2 minute walk to Cutty Sark.

The Queen's House in Greenwich

Less than 6 miles from Safestay Hostel is the Queen's House in Greenwich.  By car the excursion will take less than 20 minutes.  Public transport will be a bit longer. Walk to Elephant and Castle and take the Northern Line Subway towards Barnet. You will disembark at the London Bridge stop.  It will be a short walk to London Bridge.  Take the London Cannon Street Train to Dartford. (Stop ID: LBG)  From there disembark when you arrive at Maze Hill.  (Stop ID: MZH).  The train ride will be about 11 minutes. From there you will need to walk to your destination.  It will take you less than 9 minutes. Your total travel time will be about 43 minutes.

It is the Royal Observatory at Greenwich.  By car the excursion will take less than 20 minutes.  Public transport will be a bit longer. Walk to Elephant and Castle and take the Northern Line Subway towards Barnet. You will disembark at the London Bridge stop.  It will be a short walk to London Bridge.  Take the London Cannon Street Train to Dartford. (Stop ID: LBG)  From there disembark when you arrive at Maze Hill.  (Stop ID: MZH).  The train ride will be about 11 minutes. From there you will need to walk to your destination.  It will take you less than 15 minutes. Your total travel time will be about 45 minutes.

Sea Life London Aquarium

One may consider the Sea Life London Aquarium if you are looking for something a bit different. This attraction is located on the ground floor of County Hall on the South Bank of the River Thames in central London. It can be found near the London Eye and is a relative new attraction first opening in March of 1997.
