What is a group?

A group is at last 10 people or more travelling together.

Do you have an age restriction?

Safestay has no age limit. We’ accept all groups of all ages. Groups under 16yrs of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult (21yrs or older). Please be aware that you may be assigned a top bunk!

Can you guarantee that nobody else will be staying in our room?

When you book a group though our group department, we guarantee that nobody else will be staying in your room. Conditions apply.

Can we all be staying on the same floor?

We’ll do our best to accommodate you on the same floor; however it is not always possible due to the layout of our building and/or the room type you have chosen.

Will we have bathrooms in our rooms?

You’ll have a bathroom in your room only if you book an en-suite room. If you book a basic room then you’ll have to use communal bathrooms. We have 1 bathroom per 5 guests. This is very high standard for a London hostel. Bathrooms are located on every corridor on every floor. Your group should never have to queue!

What is included in the price?

Continental breakfast, bed linen (sheets/pillow/duvet) and all taxes are included in prices we quote you.Please note from the 1st June 2015 our continental breakfast will be improved greatly with a wider selection.  However it will no longer be free and will have an additional cost of £4.00.

Are groups entitled to a discount?

Groups up to 50 people will be offered a 10% discount on our rack rates. For groups of over 50 people you have the added benefit of a 15% discount. For more info contact us by phone on +(44) 207 703 8000 or by email at

Do you have a coach parking?

We don’t have coach parking and you can’t park around Safestay hostels. Unfortunately we don’t organise coach parking. The closest location to park your coach would be by the Imperial War Museum, Lambeth Road SE1 (On-street coach meter,6 bays. £4.40 per hour, maximum stay 4 hours. Chargeable hours: 0830 – 1830, Mon - Fri, Free Weekends and Public Holidays). For other coach parking locations, please visit You can drop-off your guests outside the hostel, but please be aware that you will be parking on a main road and any charges incurred are not the responsibility of Safestay.

Do you request a deposit on arrival?

One group leader will be required to give a credit card or cash deposit upon arrival. If using a credit card, this needs to be the card holder. We will pre-authorize the card for £300.00. Money will be deducted if; - members of the group are misbehaving in or outside the building - underage guests (under 18 years of age) are found in the bar (regardless if they are drinking alcohol or not). - interfering with the fire alarm or smoking in the room - bus driver does not follows the coach instructions - key cards for room access are lost - damage to hotel property This list is not conclusive.

How far in advance should I book?

We suggest you book between 1-6 months in advance. The sooner your book, the best chance you have finding availability for the room types and dates you prefer.

How to book?

Fill our booking form with your name and contact details... You’ll get an answer regarding our availability and rates within 24 hours.

What is an option?

An option is when you ask Safestay hostel to hold beds for your group. We usually give a 2 week option to allow you organise your entire trip. The option will expire automatically after the time period agreed.

How can I confirm my option?

To confirm your option (before the option automatically ends), you’ll need to contact us and pay your 25% deposit (non-refundable). The balance will then need to be paid 28 days prior to arrival.

What payment method do you accept?

You can pay by bank transfer, credit card or English bank cheque, please note that we only accept payments in Sterling Pounds.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel your group up to 28 days prior arrival. However, note that the deposit paid is non-refundable. See terms and conditions for further details.
