We’re in an area known as The Elephant and Castle, just south of the river. There are a few stories to where the name comes from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elephant_and_Castle. These days it’s a vibrant and exciting part of the city which has undergone a huge amount of regeneration in recent years. So there’s no shortage of things to keep you entertained. In fact, of all the hostels in London, we’re in just the right spot – especially if you want budget accommodation near The London Eye, Tower of London, London Bridge or Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. Take a look at a London map and see for yourself!
Plus there are any number of highly-acclaimed restaurants, street cafés, museums and enough shops to keep you busy for a while. The Coronet Theatre is also nearby, which was the springboard for Charlie Chaplin back in the day. And when you’re through with that little lot, just jump on the London Underground and go exploring. There are plenty of other classic destinations nearby too, like Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. Ask at reception and we’ll happily tell you what’s on in London this week – or you could just have fun seeing where the next road or tube line takes you.
